About the role
Valent U.S.A. is seeking a Sustainable Solutions Team Lead in California. The role serves as a strategic leader focused on expanding sustainable solutions in the Western US specialty market.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Sustainable Solutions Sales Specialists to deliver growth, provide technical leadership, and build deep relationships with key growers and influencers.
- Set clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and SMART goals aligned with the broader Western business unit strategy to ensure regional targets are met or exceeded.
- Manage regional budget and deploy sales team effectively across high-opportunity areas.
- Develop and execute a multi-year sales strategy for the region that aligns with the Sustainable Solutions Business Unit’s growth roadmap.
- Develop professional relationships with Regional Manager, Regional Account Managers, and Field Market Development personnel to utilize the expertise of sales and technical teams to support grower influence and education of Sustainable Solution products.
- Work with Sustainable Solutions Sales Specialists to create and execute sustainable solution sales growth plans.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory shifts, and competitor activity in the biorational space.
- Collaborate with marketing and technical teams to identify gaps in the market and create pull-through demand for the sustainable solutions portfolio.
- Discover new market fits for product usage.
- Guide the team in developing value-based selling tools that demonstrate the economic and environmental ROI of sustainable solutions to end-users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent, with 7-10 years of related experience.
- Proven track record in sales leadership, specifically within the Western US specialty market.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Strong business planning skills with a solid understanding of strategic marketing principles, business planning, and demand generation.
- Proven sales track record of creating demand through non-price value creation.

May be required to work outdoors in an agricultural crop field, assist in putting out demonstration plots, wear respirator and other personal protection equipment.

- Base Salary: The estimated annual base salary for this position ranges from $151,800 to $215,100. Individual pay is based upon location, skills, experience, and other relevant factors. Incentives: All full-time employees are eligible for an incentive program or profit-sharing program in addition to their base salary.
