About the role

As Regional Sales Manager for the Southwest territory, you will drive strategy and deliver results by making data-driven recommendations to leadership, managing a high-performing sales team, and building strong customer, supplier, and vendor relationships. This role requires leadership in budgeting, process improvement, and team development, with a portion of compensation tied to sales-related goals.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend and implement sales strategies and customer plans to the General Manager/Sales Director.
  • Analyze data and past experience to make strategic decisions and set direction.
  • Drive value-added sales opportunities through supply chain, engineering, supplier, or service excellence strategies.
  • Identify and achieve sales branch goals, not just team goals.
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and manage sales staff performance.
  • Ensure the team is trained and equipped to deliver sales plans.
  • Coach and provide feedback to employees, preparing high-potential representatives for future management roles.
  • Use managerial courage to make difficult decisions when necessary.
  • Develop and enhance relationships with key customer, supplier, and vendor contacts through superior service and operational excellence.
  • Implement effective problem-solving techniques and communicate across all levels (supplier, customer, vendor).
  • Attend reviews and meetings, increasing management presence at customer accounts to access decision-makers.
  • Act as a leader in the branch, instilling vision and enthusiasm to achieve goals.
  • Use data and analysis to make recommendations to the team and management.
  • Oversee budgeting, planning, and process improvement implementation.

Requirements

  • Manages professional employees and/or supervisors, or supervises large, complex technical or business support teams.
  • Accountable for the performance and results of a team within a discipline or function.
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
  • Decisions guided by policies, procedures, and business plans; receives guidance from senior management.
  • Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and/or customers.
  • Accountable for the budget, performance, and results of a medium-sized team or multiple small teams.
  • Exercises full management authority, including performance reviews, pay decisions, recruitment, discipline, termination, and other personnel actions.
  • Addresses issues with impact beyond the team based on knowledge of related disciplines.

Qualifications

Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a 4-year degree; or 8 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent experience.

Schedule

  • Hybrid work arrangement: Mondays in the office, rest of the week traveling throughout the territory.
  • Territory spans Southern California through Phoenix and Texas.
  • 3-4 overnights in the territory per month.

Pay

Annual hiring range: $151,600.00 - $200,534.00. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive will be finalized at offer.
