About the Role
Esperion is a fully remote-based company with a corporate headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI. The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will lead and provide strategic direction for Commercial Sales in the Northwest region (Nevada, California, Washington, Hawaii), including sales strategies, productivity, training, and effectiveness. This role reports to the National Sales Director and requires residing within the assigned region.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement regional business plans, budgets, and action plans.
- Review performance metrics with the National Sales Director to ensure sales targets are met.
- Plan and conduct meetings with the sales team; develop and inspire the team through leadership.
- Collaborate with leadership and Market Access to maximize reimbursement from commercial and government payers.
- Create and manage regional plans, including messaging, reach, frequency, and budget goals.
- Set goals and targets; evaluate account management performance against budget.
- Spend 3–4 days in the field working with Territory Managers, completing Field Coaching Reports (FCR) within 48–72 hours. Hold office hours on non-field days.
- Complete all training and policy requirements on time.
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies for all actions and vendor activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent pharmaceutical sales management experience may substitute.
- 8+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience preferred; equivalent medical sales experience may substitute.
- 3+ years of sales management experience in a U.S. pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical organization preferred.
- 2+ years of cardiology (Statin, PCSK9, and NOAC) launch experience preferred.
- Proven track record in launching new products/indications and building sales teams.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated success in commercializing new products or expanding existing opportunities.
- Ability to set priorities, allocate resources, and achieve results.
- Experience forging diverse, cross-functional teams and motivating them to accomplish goals.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work with varied audiences, including customers, colleagues, and executives.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Travel
Up to 50%–60% travel, including overnight stays.
