About the Role
The Gill Corporation is seeking a self-motivated Sales Manager to drive profitable revenue growth within the Europe and Middle East region. The successful candidate will identify and develop new sales opportunities, establish business cases for new products, maximize existing customer business, and provide localized customer and technical support. This role leads customer satisfaction initiatives, tactical and strategic activities, reviews technical inquiries, and negotiates pricing and contractual agreements. Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, the Sales Manager will focus on expanding relationships and achieving growth targets.
Responsibilities
- Establish multi-level, multi-discipline relationships with relevant industry contacts across the assigned region, including decision-makers, influencers, and others who contribute to profitable revenue opportunities and customer satisfaction.
- Work with cross-functional teams from corporate headquarters to pursue new business, including off-the-shelf, build-to-print, and innovative technologies.
- Achieve growth targets through direct sales, collaboration with Independent Sales Representatives, and coordination with other company sales personnel to promote materials and value-added solutions to Aircraft OEMs and sub-tier suppliers (interior/structures/engine). May include MRO customers based on experience.
- Lead all activities necessary to achieve customer satisfaction and independently travel to present the corporate message clearly.
- Plan and execute actions to meet or exceed assigned regional targets.
- Provide timely, updated forecasts for the assigned region.
- Develop key account, market segment, and region-wide plans, tactics, and strategies to support corporate goals.
- Handle quotations, proposals, contract preparation, and negotiations; provide program management support for strategic activities as needed.
- Gather customer requirements and competitive information to assess new business opportunities.
- Utilize sales tools such as SAP Sales Cloud to capture, analyze, and report on regional market events, customer changes, and competitive intelligence.
- Ensure the company is qualified to OEM, sub-tier, and aftermarket specifications for all products and support qualification of new offerings.
- Keep the customer base informed and updated on product developments.
- Lead the resolution of customer concerns within the assigned region.
- Document and maintain accurate records of contacts, meeting notes, programs, projects, and product usage for all customers in the region.
- Provide additional support to the corporation and subsidiaries as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, science, or business is preferred; Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- 7+ years of relevant aerospace sales experience, with composites, aircraft secondary structures, or interior industry experience preferred.
- Prior experience managing aerospace customers within Europe and the Middle East for a US-based aerospace materials or products manufacturer (composites preferred). Customers include Aircraft OEMs and sub-tier suppliers (interior/structures/engine), as well as Aftermarket segments (airlines, MROs).
- Understanding of 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining operations for composite and metallic materials, multi-opening presses, fabricated parts, and complex bonded assemblies.
- Self-motivated, quick learner, comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with cost and pricing models, technical sales, regional sales management, and supporting multiple distributed divisional sites.
- Strong project and time management skills to handle multiple activities, from short-term transactions to long-lifecycle engineered solutions.
- Fluent in written and spoken English; technical writing skills required.
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office suite; prior experience with CRM tools, SharePoint, and SAP is beneficial.
- Position is based at corporate headquarters in El Monte, CA.
- Regional travel required (approximately 25% or more as necessary).
