Regional Sales Director, Solid Tumor, South Central

Menarini Stemline is hiring a Regional Sales Director to lead our Solid Tumor portfolio in the assigned geography. This role focuses on building and developing a high-performing sales team while driving strategic business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Attain geographic business plan and revenue/product goals.
  • Hire, manage, train, and develop the commercial customer-facing sales representative team.
  • Develop direct reports to enhance performance, productivity, and employee satisfaction.
  • Formulate and maintain a local budget within ±3% of target.
  • Implement business plans through Key Account/KOL development, sales team performance, new account acquisition, and marketing strategy execution.
  • Use training, coaching, counseling, and delegation to foster professional development.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide constructive feedback, and manage staff performance (e.g., Field Day Coaching Evaluations, MBOs, Performance Evaluations, Performance Improvement Plans).
  • Conduct field coaching, observation, and training to meet minimum requirements; document coaching via Field Coaching Forms.
  • Plan, direct, evaluate, and communicate results of area sales and marketing strategies.
  • Maintain in-depth product knowledge to effectively coach and train team members.
  • Develop and implement a Regional Strategic Business Plan.
  • Build and enhance relationships with key existing and potential customers.
  • Manage staffing levels to align with business expansion, market conditions, and staffing changes.
  • Utilize a strategic account targeting framework to assess staffing needs and support business objectives.
  • Interview and evaluate candidates using the Targeted Selection process; select best-qualified candidates promptly.
  • Foster effective teamwork and collaboration with staff and internal departments.
  • Implement administrative procedures, company policies, and maintain company assets (e.g., computers, reports, business plans, expense tracking).
  • Demonstrate professional growth and adaptability to flexible hours/weekends to meet business needs.
  • Participate in additional work activities as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a science-related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of seven years of successful sales experience in the biotech hematology/oncology sector, with operational experience in breast cancer therapeutics preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of frontline sales management experience.
  • Experience with market-leading pharmaceutical or biotech organizations.
  • Proven sales track record.
  • Approximately 75% travel required.

  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles.

  • Diverse experiences providing broad business perspective and critical issue anticipation.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM platforms.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees and external contacts while maintaining a positive, service-oriented attitude.
  • Discretion and confidentiality in business relationships; sound judgment.
  • Commitment to compliance with Federal/State requirements, FDA regulations, and global quality standards.

Pay

Base Salary Range: $225,000–$270,000 (plus incentive compensation).
