Regional Sales Director - New York Metro
About the Role
Gigamon seeks a motivated Regional Sales Director (Individual Contributor) based in the New York Metro area. In this direct sales position, you will identify, qualify, and capture tactical sales opportunities that align Gigamon strategically. You will command and manage all aspects of the sales cycle through to closure, developing business strategies and solutions for complex customer problems while providing internal advice to support Gigamon’s growth in the NY Metro region.
Gigamon provides a deep observability pipeline that efficiently delivers network-derived intelligence to cloud, security, and observability tools, helping customers eliminate security blind spots, optimize network traffic, and reduce tool cost and complexity. We serve over 4,000 customers worldwide, including over 80 percent of Fortune 100 enterprises and 9 of the 10 largest mobile network providers.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for sales of company products within an assigned geographic territory and named accounts in the NY Metro region.
- Achieve sales budget through growth of existing accounts and development of new accounts.
- Maintain and update customer database, logging interactions in SalesForce.
- Use available resources (e.g., previous sales calls, invoices, Tech Service cases, webinar attendees, sample requests) to develop effective sales calls.
- Sell new and existing products, discover new opportunities, and secure incremental business.
- Identify and communicate potential opportunities with Regional Business Managers and Product Managers.
- Consistently perform effective sales calls and close new business opportunities.
- Attend trade shows, vendor meetings, and customer visits as required.
- Provide timely communication and follow-up to customers, meeting their expectations.
- Gather and share market and competitive intelligence with the organization.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to develop short- and long-range strategies for product expansion, assess customer needs, and prepare detailed product specifications for custom solutions.
- Represent the Sales group on cross-functional teams interfacing with R&D, production, and manufacturing to develop or enhance products.
- Research and analyze territories, markets, competition, and product mix; present findings to current and potential customers.
- Provide innovative problem-solving approaches to enhance organizational capabilities; leverage peer networks to expand technical and sales expertise.
- Devise new approaches to challenges and share insights with Regional Business Managers.
- Assist in training lower-level Sales staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 8+ years of direct selling experience in Networking and/or Network Security.
- Proven track record of success, including awards such as "rookie of the year," President’s Club membership, and consistent quota attainment.
- Demonstrated consultative, solution-selling skills for all organizational levels.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Residency in the NY Metro area with a proven ability to build relationships with major accounts and channel partners.
- Proficiency in SalesForce, with disciplined forecasting practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, CIS, or a related field (preferred).
- Background in sales engineering or training in CS, IT, or EE (a plus).

Pay
The base salary plus commission compensation range for this role is expected to be between $280,000 and $350,000, subject to the terms and conditions of the plan. Actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
