About the role
Veloxis Pharmaceuticals, an Asahi Kasei Group Company based in Cary, NC, is seeking a Regional Sales Director to develop and execute sales strategies, lead a regional sales team, and drive growth in line with company vision and values. The role focuses on transforming transplant medicine by collaborating with healthcare providers and developing new therapies while fostering a dynamic, innovative, and patient-centric work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a regional team of Account Managers and Infectious Disease specialists.
- Develop and execute a strategic Regional Sales Plan aligned with national brand and corporate strategies.
- Drive key strategic initiatives through cross-functional leadership and collaboration with Sales Operations, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and other stakeholders.
- Maximize market, segment, and team dynamics to achieve top- and bottom-line results.
- Create a high-performing organization by coaching, mentoring, and providing career development pathways; conduct ongoing field visits to assess performance and customer needs.
- Identify, recruit, and retain talented sales professionals.
- Manage region budget and P&L in alignment with corporate expectations.
- Plan and conduct action meetings with regional, inter-regional, and corporate leadership.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Recommend sales strategies, tactics, and structural improvements to executive management.
- Attend and participate in sales and marketing meetings, and assist with training.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- BA/BS in business administration or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
- Minimum 7–10 years’ pharmaceutical experience in complex institutions (academic medical centers, HSCT programs, transplant centers, regional referral hospitals, etc.).
- Experience in refractory HSV, IC, HSCT, SOT, or hematologic malignancies required; experience in multiple disease areas strongly preferred.
- Product launch experience preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ sales leadership experience preferred.
- Superior specialty disease state knowledge.
- Strong team-building, motivating, coaching, and performance management skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to drive performance and form productive partnerships.
- Advanced presentation skills for delivering corporate-approved materials; highly adept in verbal and written communication.
- Advanced business analytical skills to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
- Ability to articulate the scientific aspects of treatments and therapeutic areas.
- Meets all requirements for health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing.
- Understanding of legal, compliance, and regulatory environment in pharmaceutical promotions.
Travel Requirement: 60–75%. Extensive travel to oversee a large geographic region, including overnight travel.
