Responsibilities

  • Assist the Corporate Safety Director in managing the existing safety program.
  • Perform daily inspections of projects in the assigned division to ensure employees adhere to Company safety policies and procedures and comply with CFR 1926 standards.
  • Assist Division Managers and Operations Managers with safety matters, including development of site-specific safety plans, emergency action plans, and safety documentation.
  • Prepare and submit a weekly safety report to the Corporate Safety Director and Division Manager outlining any safety-related issues and/or non-compliance matters.
  • Document all incidents and/or injuries and take appropriate action under the direction of and in accordance with corporate case management system(s).
  • Assist in training, orientation, and coaching of employees.

Requirements

  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification.
  • OSHA Outreach Trainer (OSHA 500) certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction safety.
  • Experience, education, or understanding of excavation/trenches, shoring, confined space, fall protection, rigging, traffic control, and site safety plans.
