Regional Safety Manager

About the role

Ecowaste Solutions is seeking a Safety Leader to oversee and enhance their existing Health and Safety Program in Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas. The role involves managing compliance, risk reduction, and safety improvements across multiple sites, with a focus on DOT and FMCSA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Implement, manage, and maintain a comprehensive Health and Safety Program
• Drive continuous improvement of safety programs through internal audits and incident investigations
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and state regulations
• Measure and drive continuous improvement of safety programs
• Manage property damage for each location
• Perform quarterly safety audits on each site
• Work closely with operations teams on events, accidents, particularly those involving fleet and trucking operations

Qualifications

• 4+ years of safety management experience, including direct experience leading safety programs within a trucking or motor carrier environment
• Deep expertise in DOT/FMCSA regulations and enforcement standards
• Extensive travel required, approximately 60% of the time, throughout the assigned region
• Proficient with MS Office applications, with expertise in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• SharePoint expertise is preferred
• Excellent organization and communication skills, including verbal and written communication
• Ability to manage conflict related to safety or environmental situations
