Job Summary

The role of Quality Engineer is to provide expertise and advice concerning operational business process compliance, quality audits, continuous improvement, NCRs, documentation, and risk management. The job holder independently engages with others, is technically and operationally curious, competently organized, motivated through optimization and improvements, and communicates results and feedback to all levels of the organization as required.

Job Overview

Drives and ensures progress on process improvements and root cause analysis of issues and run failures that impact main operational performance and associated KPIs. Reports findings, proposes solutions, and works with different departments to implement required changes while using appropriate quality improvement methodologies. Identifies and escalates operational risks for the company. Works with stakeholders to understand problems, derive an action plan, and manage and mitigate remaining risks. Performs process, field, and shop floor audits and surveillance on internal processes. Supports external audits as required. Executes continual reviews and improvements of quality control processes in the workshop. Establishes and advances best practices. Engages with different departments to resolve customer concerns and provides necessary guidance. Understands customer needs and requirements and creates action plans. Participates in customer, management, and quality team meetings.

Qualifications/Education

  • A degree or diploma in electronical/mechanical engineering is required.
  • Experience with quality standards, tools, and root cause analysis methods is strongly preferred.
  • Internal auditing qualification (ISO 9001) is required.
  • Must be proficient in spoken and written English.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role, ideally in the oil and gas sector.
  • Previous experience in conducting quality audits is required.
  • Experience working in the pipeline inspection service industry is preferred.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills are required.

Software/Technology/Equipment

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and VISIO).
  • Intermediate knowledge of SharePoint.
  • Basic knowledge of ERP systems.

Work Environment

Works in a general office environment. Occasional domestic and international travel.

Physical Requirements

  • Requirement to lift or carry weight up to 20 lbs (9 kg).
  • Occasional requirement to drive.
  • No requirement to bend or crouch.
  • No requirement to kneel or crawl.
  • Endurance is limited to sitting for longer than 90 minutes at a time before changing to a new activity.
  • Endurance is limited to standing for longer than 60 minutes at a time before changing to a new activity.
