Regional Manager, Procurement

About the Role

Winsupply Sourcing Services (WSS) operates ~3.5 million square feet of wholesaling warehouse space, offering inventory and vendor management solutions to be the premier vendor partner for our customer base of over 670 locally-owned wholesale distribution businesses nationwide. This role provides the opportunity to directly impact the success of entrepreneurial small businesses across the United States by ensuring WSS is stocked with efficiently turning inventory that local company (LC) customers demand. WSS transacts with vendors and customers nearly three quarters of a million times in a given fiscal year.

Responsibilities

• Team Oversight and Leadership
  • Understand job responsibilities, advocate for, and lead/mentor Procurement and Support Specialists
  • Monitor team responsibilities; oversee and manage team metrics to maintain vendor line performance
  • Leverage WSS team knowledge and professional resources to ensure employees are adequately trained; build team expertise on forecasting software and product mix
  • Develop action plans with employees to correct metrics not meeting expectations
  • Administer performance management system, including metric recordkeeping, monthly 1:1’s, annual reviews, Trakstar system, promotion and bonus recommendations, and performance improvement plans
  • Identify, bring forth, and implement process improvements; lead and deliver strategic projects
• Cross-Functional Collaboration, Accountability, and Service
  • Collaborate directly with Vendor Relations team to support launch of new, profitable product lines, as well as removal of non-performing, non-profitable lines; build knowledge on WISE system to effectuate
  • React to Local Company feedback, either directly or via WSS Business Development, to support growth and incremental demand on distribution centers; develop proactive customer communication plans
  • Balance growth opportunities with accountability to customers, sales team, and senior leadership expectations regarding distribution center inventory performance (turns/fill rates)
• Partnerships and Relationships
  • Build and leverage strategic relationships with vendors, customers, and other internal Sourcing teams to represent Sourcing Procurement, lead with influence, master the matrix, and communicate in all directions
  • Address partner feedback promptly, with emphasis on problem resolution and root-cause analysis
• Other duties as assigned, including travel as necessary

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S./B.A. in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field. In lieu of degree, relevant experience considered.
  • Purchasing, inventory management, and leadership experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the wholesale industry.

Physical Demands

• Sitting for extended periods of time.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components.
