Job Summary

The Regional Manager reports to the Physician Services Director-Operations assigned to the Department of Pediatrics. The Regional Manager provides daily oversight for operations of each assigned practice, assesses and provides recommendations for practice improvements, and oversees the financial oversight of the practices including the development of operational and capital budgets.

About the Role

This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. They are trained and assigned to coordinate care for patients and support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change. They are also trained and assigned to manage the practices' patient population. This position participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, hires, and oversees the training and orientation for all clinical and clerical staff and provides ongoing supervision and evaluation of the staff.
  • Administers administrative responsibilities including tracking monthly clinical and financial statistics, monitoring billing and collection functions, maximizing patient flow, and optimizing the work environment to facilitate open communications and professional excellence.
  • Develops positive relationships with providers and guides staff by showing exemplary leadership skills.
  • Works in a time-sensitive environment and with confidential information, balancing multiple tasks, working within stringent time frames, and executing projects to completion.
  • Uses change management skills, measures and drives for results, analyzes issues, uses sound judgment, coaches and mentors reports, acts as a role model, supports hospital vision, mission, and strategic initiatives, holds reports accountable for results, engages, inspires, and influences others, promotes excellent customer service, thinks and acts strategically, plans and executes process improvement initiatives that are measureable and demonstrate improvement.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience and success in working in a healthcare team producing positive outcomes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of physician office practices.
  • Practice management/billing experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent management/work experience.
  • Preferred: MBA.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in business management, with strong financial and systems background, and strong marketing experience.

Department Position Summary

The Regional Manager works with staff to create a culture of improvement and service excellence. Additionally, this position will have oversight of daily operations of assigned practices, including registration, cash collection, charge preparation, medical record documentation, referral/authorizations, related insurance and coding processes. These responsibilities include hiring, termination, training and annual competencies as well as disciplinary processes as needed. This position will promote teamwork and facilitate a smooth flow of daily operations of the practice and ensure superior customer service daily by interacting with all internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner. The Regional Manager will assist in the development of capital and operational budgets for assigned practices and will monitor monthly variances from the budget and implement corrective action. This position will be responsible for maintaining standards set forth by TJC and coordinating QI initiatives within the practices including adherence to regulatory requirements.
