Regional Manager

About the role

Reporting to the Regional Director, the Regional Manager will provide operational support and training for all clubs, with special attention to underperforming locations. This position plays a critical role in developing club managers, fostering talent, and driving business improvement through data-driven strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop club managers to be independent and successful, teaching them to utilize existing tools and holding them accountable for results.
• Provide ‘+1 service’ to your team, facilitating annual performance reviews and assigning goals based on business trends and personnel performance.
• Assist managers in developing talent and building a pipeline for future growth, ensuring team knowledge of critical information and participation in training.
• Spend the majority of time in assigned clubs, with optional Fridays in the Riverdale office. Review and present weekly observations, including daily balance sheets (BCM%, secondary billing %, closing %, and tour %), to the Regional Director and develop improvement plans.
• Write schedules a week in advance, leveraging prior observations to plan the upcoming week.
• Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with each manager to review key metrics (BCM%, secondary billing %, closing %, and tour %), compare results from the prior month, and set future goals.
• Hold teams accountable to business metrics and provide support in areas of opportunity.
• Conduct and review mystery shops and info calls monthly, providing feedback and coaching to club managers for improvement.
• Provide regular feedback to the Regional Director based on staff interactions and observations to inform monthly training for club managers, assistant managers, and member services employees.
• Assess underperforming clubs, work with the Regional Director to ensure SOPs are in place, and develop and implement strategies for improvement.
• Review all online/social complaints and work with the management team to adjust business practices as needed. Platforms include online reviews, BBB, PFATL, and all social media platforms.
• During club visits, observe the service queue, fitness EMS, balance sheets, customer service calls, member surveys, online feedback, and info calls. Focus on initiatives or opportunities specific to each club and send weekly visit notes to the Regional Director and COO.

Requirements

• 2+ years of management experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage employees.
• Ability to travel to multiple locations.
• Training Manager certification via Planet Fitness University.
