About the Role

Vaco has an exciting opportunity for a Regional HR Manager with a leading transportation, logistics, and cargo-handling organization. This position will provide both strategic and hands-on HR leadership across multiple locations, supporting a fast-paced, unionized workforce. 25% required travel.

The Regional HR Manager will oversee employee relations, labor relations, compliance, payroll coordination, workforce planning, talent management, and employee engagement initiatives while serving as a key business partner to site leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide HR leadership across multiple regional locations
  • Manage employee relations and performance management matters
  • Partner with operations leaders on workforce planning initiatives
  • Lead labor relations activities in a unionized environment
  • Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements
  • Coordinate union dues administration and union communications
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Oversee HRIS and payroll-related processes
  • Support employee engagement and retention efforts
  • Drive HR best practices and process improvements
  • Assist with investigations, grievances, and disciplinary matters
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and employee lifecycle activities

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources management experience
  • 3-5 years of hands-on Union, Grievance, CBA, and labor relations experience required
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Ability to obtain required site access credentials and industry certifications
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or equivalent
  • Experience supporting transportation, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, or industrial operations

  • Able to serve as the primary HR leader across multiple locations

  • Willing to work onsite and travel throughout the region
  • Available to start within a short timeframe
