About the role

As a Regional Field Manager (internally referred to as Grassroots Engagement Director) on our Americans for Prosperity-Kentucky team, you will identify, recruit, and engage grassroots leaders in Kentucky, mobilize them to take action, and drive policy reform that opens opportunities for all. This role will ideally be based in the Lexington area.

Responsibilities

  • Identify activists in various parts of the state who are currently—or could become—leaders in their local communities as elected officials or citizen organizers and motivate them to advocate for change.
  • Equip these local leaders to advocate for changes consistent with principles AFP believes in by connecting them to training and other resources.
  • Organize events where you and other activists can engage the public through phone calls, social media, door-to-door canvassing, and innovative outreach methods to educate them on public policy issues and initiatives.
  • Ensure AFP stays in regular contact with activists to keep them motivated, educated, and active.
  • Manage part-time canvassing contractors, including time management, compliance with laws and regulations, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Passion for people and ability to build relationships quickly with individuals from all walks of life while inspiring and motivating them.
  • Knowledge of state and federal public policy landscapes.
  • Self-motivation and ability to optimize time to accomplish objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple events and activities for yourself and others.
  • Ability to work well with a team, including AFP staff and engaged activists.
  • Enthusiasm for canvassing neighborhoods, making phone calls for AFP priority initiatives and endorsed candidates, and coordinating volunteers.
  • A valid driver’s license to travel as needed within your area and across the state.
  • Willingness to work a flexible and changing schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Commitment to Stand Together’s vision and principled approach to solving problems, including stewardship of its culture, which values transformation, innovation, entrepreneurialism, humility, and respect.

Qualifications

Standout candidates will bring:

  • Experience in grassroots advocacy, community organizing, and/or political campaigns.
  • Volunteer or staff supervisory experience.

Benefits

  • Competitive benefits, including a 6% 401(k) match with immediate vesting.
  • Flexible time off.
  • Comprehensive health and dental plans.
  • Wellness and mental health support through Peloton and Talkspace.
  • Opportunity to join a passionate community of over 1,400 employees dedicated to improving lives and driving innovative solutions.
  • Non-hierarchical environment that empowers employees to discover, develop, and apply their unique talents.
  • Competitive compensation with bonus opportunities aligned with your contribution to the organization.

Pay

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $60,000–$70,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for additional bonus compensation designed to align total compensation with an employee’s overall contribution to the organization.
