About the role
Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is seeking a Regional Field Manager (Grassroots Engagement Director) for our Americans for Prosperity-Kentucky team. This role will ideally be based in the Lexington area.
Responsibilities
- Identify, recruit, and engage grassroots leaders in Kentucky, mobilizing them to take action and drive policy reform that benefits all.
- Equip local leaders with the necessary training and resources to advocate for policies consistent with AFP's principles.
- Organize events to engage the public through various methods such as phone calls, social media, and face-to-face interactions.
- Keep activists motivated, educated, and active by staying in regular contact with them.
- Manage part-time canvassing contractors, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations and adherence to best practices.
Requirements
- Passion for people and the ability to quickly build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds, inspiring and motivating them.
- Knowledge of state and federal public policy landscapes.
- Self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to keep track of various events and activities.
- Experience in grassroots advocacy, community organizing, and/or political campaigns.
- Volunteer or staff supervisory experience is a plus.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license for travel to meet with people in various areas and across the state.
- Flexible and adaptable to a changing work schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Enthusiasm for contributing to AFP's mission and vision, and a commitment to maintaining the organization's culture and values.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using technology for event planning and outreach.
- Experience with social media and digital campaigning.

Pay
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $60,000-$70,000 per year. Additional bonus compensation may be available based on performance.
