About the Role
Responsible for the operational management, leadership, and administration of the Technical Services team to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of building systems and infrastructure. This role focuses on maintaining 100% uptime across engineering operations, protecting and enhancing client assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional service through effective team leadership and vendor management.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, lighting, generators, controls, cabling, digital systems, and audio/visual services.
- Supervise and develop engineering and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Manage preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance programs to ensure operational reliability and efficiency.
- Identify and address safety hazards while implementing and managing safety training programs and compliance initiatives.
- Assist with capital planning activities, including infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements, and building modifications.
- Coordinate and oversee major building projects to ensure proper planning, execution, and closeout in accordance with industry standards.
- Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, engineering logs, compliance records, building drawings, and system single-line diagrams.
- Manage contractors and vendors to ensure quality work, competitive pricing, adherence to safety standards, and compliance with critical facility procedures.
- Monitor equipment performance, review operational reports, conduct inspections, and ensure all systems operate at optimal performance levels.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Two years of trades schooling in electrical systems design, refrigeration, or HVAC preferred.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in building repair and maintenance, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and critical building systems.
- Ability to analyze system operations, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, peers, and team members.
- Demonstrated customer service and team leadership capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing critical environments and infrastructure systems.
- Prior experience supervising engineering or maintenance teams.
- Familiarity with CEWA (Critical Facility Work Authorization) or similar critical work authorization programs.
- Experience managing vendors, contractors, and capital improvement projects.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements related to building operations and safety.
