Regional Engineer - Ridgeland, MS

Qualifications

• A B.S. in Civil Engineering or an equivalent degree from an EAC/ABET accredited engineering program
• Must be a registered civil engineer
• Must obtain registration reciprocity in assigned states
• Desirable qualifications include experience with Civil3D, hydrology, hydraulics, structures/pump station design, erosion control and construction inspection and management

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposal scope of work and budgets in coordination with close biological staff
• Interpret, select, adapt, and apply engineering, surveying, and construction management principles and practices across a range of engineering services within a diverse conservation program
• Complete engineering designs and reports as required
• Prepare project plans, technical specifications and cost estimates
• Attend project meetings
• Conduct field inspection and perform construction management oversight as needed
• Ensure that consultants and contractors adhere to project plans, specifications and schedules
• Act as contracting officer, ensure contract compliance and manage project budgets
• Assist with occasional field work as required, which could include strenuous outdoor activity in difficult environmental conditions
• Must be able to operate an ATV and an outboard boat when necessary
