Regional EHS Manager

The Regional EHS Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) culture at designated Clayton facilities, including those within the Home Building, Heibar, and Supply Groups. This role involves close collaboration with onsite EHS and Plant Leadership to drive commitment and continuous development of both short-term and long-term goals, focusing on reducing waste, eliminating hazards and injuries, and fostering a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Focus on the continuous development of current EHS Managers and EHS Coordinators to ensure up-to-date practices and the ability to influence change.
• Ensure EHS plans and procedures are established within assigned home building facilities with direct and clear communications. Plans may include hazard reductions, injury elimination, environmental improvement, recordkeeping for environmental compliance, team member wellness, workers’ compensation, and injury management.
• Elevate current EHS processes to better engage team members in safe and healthy working environments.
• Ensure compliance with and communication on all ISO, DOL, OSHA, DOT, and EPA standards, holding facility leadership accountable as needed.
• Provide consistent and clear training and direction on accident tracking, investigations, reporting, return-to-work processes, and related expectations.
• Complete regular check-ins with the EHS Director and other leadership to ensure accuracy and completion of all EHS tasks.
• Participate in EHS assessments, audits, and investigations within assigned facilities.
• Review and communicate Near Miss incidents, recordable and lost-time injuries, corrective actions, and root cause analyses from each facility.
• Lead facility-wide projects and initiatives that strengthen the EHS culture company-wide.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (4-year) preferred.
• 5+ years of prior experience in an EHS-related role.
• Ability to travel up to 40% or more of the time.
• Demonstrated competence in ISO standards and practices, as well as OSHA, DOL, DOT, and EPA regulations.
• High attention to detail with strong critical and analytical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
• High level of personal integrity and business ethics, faithfully executing all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Physical Demands

• Consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (telephone, calculator, copy machine, printer, etc.).
• Communicate effectively via phone, email, and in person to exchange accurate information.
• Work primarily in home building facilities and, when in the office, an indoor, temperature-controlled environment.
• Work involves sitting, standing, and frequent walking.
