About the role

The Regional Director of Nursing (RDON) is a highly skilled and experienced Registered Professional Nurse with advanced studies and expertise in Nursing Services administration. They oversee planning, policy development, and patient care evaluation to ensure compliance with ACA, NCCHC, and State standards. They provide guidance and support to nursing staff in their region, coordinate training and education opportunities, serve as a liaison between nursing services, other healthcare providers, and the Regional Manager and Medical Director, monitor and report on nursing incidents and communicable diseases, and assist the Medical Director in developing nursing guidelines and manuals for the region.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of planning, policy development, and patient care evaluation to ensure compliance with ACA, NCCHC, and State standards.
  • Guidance and support to nursing staff in their region, including coordination of training and education opportunities.
  • Serving as a liaison between nursing services, other healthcare providers, and the Regional Manager and Medical Director.
  • Monitoring and reporting on nursing incidents and communicable diseases, and assessing policies and procedures as needed.
  • Aiding the Medical Director in developing nursing guidelines and manuals for the region.

Requirements

  • Education: Must be graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Experience: Emergency Room, communicable disease, with medical and surgical experience preferred. 5 years of supervisory experience in an acute setting recommended. Experience in delivery and administration of correctional nursing services preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Must have and maintain current licensure as a registered nurse within the state as well as CPR certification.
