Day in the Life of a Regional Director KY/VA OTP’s

The OTP (Opioid Treatment Program) clinic is a specialized, highly regulated facility that provides Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). These clinics combine FDA-approved medications (like methadone or buprenorphine) with counseling and behavioral therapies to help patients recover safely.

Responsibilities

  • Manage 8 centers (4 in VA and 4 in KY)
  • Set clear performance expectations and execute against key performance indicators
  • Balance short-term demands with long-term strategic priorities
  • Build high-performing teams that consistently meet or exceed KPIs
  • Achieve growth and strengthen market position
  • Deliver operational excellence through strong leadership, strategic clarity, and disciplined execution
  • Establish and drive achievement of business goals, objectives, and Key Performance Indicators
  • Develop and communicate a clear regional strategy aligned with organizational objectives
  • Lead regional talent management efforts, including attracting, onboarding, engaging, developing, and retaining high-performing talent
  • Foster a high-performing and inclusive culture rooted in trust, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Proactively address performance, talent, and operational challenges to sustain business success
  • Manage full P&L responsibility for multiple centers, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance optimization
  • Maintain key financial metrics, identify risks, and implement strategies to protect and grow profitability
  • Analyze and respond to local market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards while adapting to evolving trends
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration to optimize efficiency, performance, and execution
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation to enhance productivity, margins, and growth
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Health, Healthcare, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
  • Master’s degree in Human Services, Behavioral Health, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of five years of leadership or management experience required
  • Experience in substance use disorder treatment and/or mental health services strongly preferred
