Regional Construction Manager - Sheet Metal
About the role
This position oversees the operations, strategic planning, and personnel management of the Sheetmetal Field, Area, and Regional Superintendents across multiple states. Under the supervision of the Director of Construction Operations, responsibilities include leading and overseeing field leadership, promoting leadership positions, managing resource allocation, assisting with promotions, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all field leadership to ensure standards and productivity are met in an effort to achieve company goals.
- Assist direct reports with resource management.
- Promote leadership positions by proper team selection for all regional construction operations, including assignment of General Forepersons.
- Create and execute project execution strategies and schedules.
- Resolve issues, challenges, and obstacles related to construction operations.
- Implement and adhere to Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) protocols.
- Conduct regular department meetings (Superintendent, General Foreperson, and Foreperson meetings).
- Prepare for and attend pre-bid and post-bid interviews.
- Ensure department’s participation in project kick-off, mid-job, and wrap-up meetings.
- Review and track project labor budgets.
- Provide input to the toolroom manager on standard tools required for trade-specific use and promote responsible use and return of company issued tools and equipment.
- Engage with employer groups and labor relations representatives to create and foster meaningful, long-term relationships that support company goals, including defending and resolving labor disputes.
- Aid the Director in department budget and financial planning.
- Understand and ensure compliance with applicable union Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Requirements
- Strong industry knowledge.
- Excellent leadership skills including honesty, integrity, patience, empathy, and a strong work ethic.
- Effective communicator at all levels of the business.
- Experience and deep understanding of each of the trades (sheet metal, pipe fitting, process piping, plumbing, electrical controls, electrical, site utilities, start-up).
- 20+ years of experience in Construction leading projects.
- Experience with the various business and corporate software technologies ACCO currently utilizes (MS Office, Google Workspace, Adobe, ProCore, Bluebeam, Box).
- Proficient in English.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of local quality, occupational safety, and health regulations for construction job sites.
Qualifications
- Degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or architecture preferred.
- Experience in remote training softwares and technologies used within best-in-class organizations.
- Software experience: CRM/PM Platforms (Bidtracer), Collaboration (Smartsheet, Slack, Revitzio, PlanGrid), Design/Detailing (Autodesk AEC Collection, Spooling: Revit CAD/CAM: E-volve, Trimble).
- Preferred but not required: Proficiency in Spanish.

Pay
The position is for signatory employees and wages will be aligned with the current Collective Bargaining Agreements. Compensation and offerings may potentially include: Relocation Packages, Performance Bonuses, and other benefits as outlined in the company's policies.
Schedule
Travel 25-50% of the time to and from the primary office to regional branch offices.
