Responsibilities
- Schedule personnel to meet the service territory.
- Manage company interest.
- Maintain company assets at the highest level.
- Lead employees to success.
- Accept nothing but the best.
- Understand how to operate larger customer geography, with quality service and support.
- Know the market conditions and respond with sound judgement.
- Manage dedicated sales staff.
- Can properly filter and select employees needed.
- Effectively train employees to meet standards.
- Recognize positives of employee’s performance.
- Recognize poor performance and can retrain to acceptable levels.
- Separate from poor performing employees.
- Promote good employees who are high achievers in performance, proficiency, procedure, safety, company minded and people friendly.
- Uncompromising to people and property for safety and code compliance.
- Awareness of conditions and contingencies for stressed situations.
- Thorough knowledge of:
- NFPA 58 Codes
- NFPA 54 Codes
- DOT Federal and State Codes and Laws
- CFR 49 – Jurisdictional Pipeline as needed
- Maintain vehicles to the highest standards.
- Deliver trucks are reliable for a minimum 20 year lifecycle.
- Comply with all DOT regulations at all times.
- Support for piping, pumps and hose.
- Domestic tanks blocked, accessible, properly stored and ready.
- Gates, fencing, locks, high state of security and functionality.
- Electric lighting, switches, conduit, outlets up to code and well maintained.
- Storage tank, manual valving, pneumatic valves, relief valves and Emergency Shutdown valves fully functional, code compliant and well maintained.
- Strategically look to improve the service area.
- Assess how to better schedule customer needs:
- Tank Sizing
- Clustering of unique accounts.
- Integrate delivery/service software.
- Maximize the use of Company Equipment.
- Reduce the cost of physical delivery.
- Help the company to reach more market share.
- Visual reminder that we are here.
- Reduce the pressure off the driver.
- Look for:
- 10 ton road
- High ground free of water problems
- Access to actual market
- Typically 20-30 mile by air from main office
- Place in a location that is not at the outside fringe of the market
- Consider locating near a town that is not served by natural gas
- Electrical power readily available
- Prefer to own the land, try not to lease
- Minimum ½ acre lot, prefer 1 acre
- Must be up to date on all current technology the company is using.
- Must be open to and willing to learn new technology Lakes Gas Co is looking to implement.
- Responsible for all technological devices in your region.
- Control inventory liquid propane.
- Manage bulk storage.
- Bobtail Storage
- Cylinder Float
- Merchandise management; mark up and accountability.
- Company tanks/cylinder and equipment meets expectation.
- Customer lease of equipment.
- Tank/equipment asset performance (rent).
- Maintain and care of all containers.
- Field maintenance, meet OEI compliance.
- Yard maintenance, meet OEI compliance.
- Readiness to deploy.
- Tank/cylinder evacuation of pressurized gas.
- Yard counts accurate and consolidated.
- Stored as close to plant as possible.
- Competency to manage company interest.
- Maintain company assets at the highest level.

- Driver courtesy on delivery sites.
- Treat customers like you want to be treated.
