Regional Application Engineer

This is a remote role for candidates currently living in Baton Rouge, LA, New Orleans, LA, or Lafayette, LA. Relocation is not provided. Up to 50% travel is required.

About the role

The Regional Application Engineer is a consultative, technical sales professional responsible for supporting electrical consultants, designers, end users, and specifiers that serve the local commercial, institutional, industrial, and government municipality markets. This role requires both strong technical and commercial skills, with experience in electrical power distribution and mechanical support systems typically applied in these markets.

The primary function is to achieve acceptability of Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds and B-Line series products in the marketplace while providing technical leadership and mentoring for sales engineers, outside rep agencies, and both internal and external customers. This position collaborates with electrical consultants, contractors, and specifying engineers to assist in the application, layout, and specification of B-Line and Crouse-Hinds products across various project verticals.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical pre-sale application and support for Crouse-Hinds and B-Line series products with consulting firms in assigned sales geographies to better position Eaton in the market.
• Provide strategic technical leadership and mentoring in support of sales teams in assigned sales geographies.
• Conduct product seminars and training on Crouse-Hinds and B-Line series products and solutions for consultants, specifiers, end users, channel partners, and sales engineers.
• Work with product lines on the development of tools and literature focused on system designers and provide voice-of-customer input to drive product development.
• Provide technical application support on target projects, including drawing reviews, contributions to sales pursuit strategies, and interface with key stakeholders involved in the design and specification of electrical infrastructure systems.
• Assist customers with design-build opportunities, specification reviews, lighting audits, and other consultative activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of electrical sales experience.
• Minimum of one (1) year of Eaton electrical product experience.
• No relocation is offered; candidates must currently reside in Baton Rouge, LA, New Orleans, LA, or Lafayette, LA.
• Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ten (10) years of related sales experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Knowledge of Eaton Electrical products, services, and competitive offerings.
• Strong technical knowledge regarding the application of electrical infrastructure solutions.
• Strategic understanding of the US Power Distribution market.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role is $115,000 - $168,000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
