REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN

Description Job Title:Refrigeration Technician Location:Moberly, MO ScopeofPosition The RefrigerationTechnicianisresponsible for maintaining all aspects of the ammonia refrigeration system, boiler, booster water, compressed air, fire suppression, HVAC and building maintenance tasks as needed. They are also responsible forpreventive maintenance and emergency repairs on all equipment as needed. Responsibilities Maintain and complete work orders and preventive maintenance paperwork in a timely mannerMaintain a log bookofall breakdowns and correctiveactions takenComplete daily rounds on all equipment;this includes weekends and holidays, 365 days a yearScheduleshutdowns of equipment and machinery for repairs and maintenance without disrupting productionTroubleshoot equipment mechanically and electrically for any issuesUtilize time effectively tobest minimizeequipment downtime and repairsBe safety-minded andfollowlockout-tagout(LOTO)procedures for all equipment that is being worked onBe a team player and not afraid to ask for guidance or help whenneededBe on call whenneeded and able to work alone if the situation calls for itReceive and follow training onLOTO, fall protection, confined space, hot work, and any other training deemed necessary to performthejob safelyand effectivelyOrder materials and parts as needed for stock or repairs of equipmentMaintain clean mechanical rooms at all times with no exceptionsWorkwith several outside vendors and technicians in a professional mannerAssist maintenance technicians with mechanical troubleshooting and repairs as needed or as directed by maintenance leadership Other duties as assigned Qualifications At least two years in a refrigeration or boiler room preferred.Operator 1 and Operator 2 preferred.Strong working knowledge of industrial maintenance and electrical functionsAbleto learn and follow directions from management and team leadersAbleto follow and implement safety rulesAbletoread and write in EnglishProficient with time andprioritizing workAble to use a computer for the functions of the engine room and emailAbleto be SCBA certified forHaz-Mat Physical Demands/Work Environment Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Ability to work 12 hour shifts is required 3 to 4 days a weekPlant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold (non-weather related), and working near moving mechanical partsNoise level in the work areas can be loud,especiallyin the ammonia compressor roomWill be regularly exposed to outside weather in all conditionsWill be regularly exposed to chemicals used in the plant and for maintenance processesAble to climb laddersand stairs regularlyAble to climb under and over piping and equipment as neededSchedule is Thursday-Saturday every other Wednesday 4am-4pm 12hr shifts Our Company, Your Opportunity Nearly 150 years ago, Gustavus Swift founded Swift & Company.
