Refrigeration Mechanic in a Food Manufacturing Plant

About the role
The Refrigeration Mechanic will repair, install, and troubleshoot refrigeration systems at the plant, including industrial climate control systems such as HVAC units, ice machines, and refrigerated storage units. This role also performs preventative maintenance to avoid future breakdowns.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain climate-control systems.
- Repair and upgrade refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose problems in existing systems.
- Perform repairs to existing equipment.
- Troubleshoot, replace parts, and run tests to ensure systems operate properly after repairs.
- Perform upgrades to meet new regulations or standards.
- Operate tools, gauges, and testing equipment for refrigeration systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- ARO/CRT certificate.
- Ammonia Refrigeration Operator experience.
- EPA certification.
- Commercial HVAC experience (preferably in a manufacturing plant setting).
- Knowledge of Glycol systems (a plus).
- Knowledge of LEM Direct Logic (a plus).
- Ability to read, write, and speak English; comprehension of basic measurements.
- Willingness and flexibility to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced, 24-hour plant environment.
- Basic computer skills and ability to multitask in a plant environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to stand, kneel, or stoop for long periods of time.
