Refrigeration Mechanic (Food Manufacturing Plant)

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain climate-control systems.
• Repair and upgrade refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose problems to existing systems.
• Perform repairs to existing equipment.
• Troubleshoot, replace parts, run tests to ensure the systems are working properly following repairs.
• Perform upgrades to satisfy new regulations or meet new standards.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical and plumbing concepts.
• Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
• Operating tools, gauges, and other testing equipment for refrigeration systems.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English; comprehension of basic math.
• Willingness and flexibility to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced, 24 hour plant environment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to multitask in a plant environment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to lift, carry equipment up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand, kneel or stoop for long periods of time.
