Refrigeration Installation/Pipefitter Technician

About the role

We are seeking Refrigeration Installation/Pipefitter Technicians in the Lafayette area to join our team at Dart Commercial Services. This position involves installing new or used equipment, requiring knowledge of refrigeration equipment, hand tools, welding, refrigeration, schematics, and floor layout drawings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain stellar safety record. Zero traffic tickets and accidents.
• Travel to worksite in company provided vehicle.
• Use gloves, safety goggles, and other PPE to prevent injury to self or others.
• Communicate with management, customers, and other technicians on the timing, location, and method for installing refrigeration equipment.
• Fabricate and install equipment per drawings and specifications.
• Connect systems to electrical, control, fuel, water lines, ducts, air lines and other utilities.
• Test installed system for proper operation. Make necessary adjustments to electrical control and mechanical systems using such methods as PLC programming, reading gauges, and valve adjustment.
• Perform mechanical Refrigerant Conversions.
• Record the use of all refrigerant and remove and discard prior systems in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.
• Order, pick up, deliver, and install materials and supplies needed to maintain equipment in good working condition.

Requirements

• One year certificate from college or technical school; and/or three to five years related experience.
• EPA Refrigeration Certificate.
• A valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.

Skills

• Two years of refrigeration experience.
• Two years of working knowledge of refrigeration equipment, tools, and refrigerants.
• Working knowledge of silver solder tools.
• Working knowledge of normal shop equipment and hand tools.
• Working knowledge of all electrical phases and voltage.
• Highly motivated and able to work independently.
