Responsibilities
- Install commercial HVAC equipment including split systems, DX units, package air conditioning units, ductless mini-split systems, heat pumps, and other commercial HVAC equipment.
- Install refrigerant piping, supports, insulation, valves, and accessories according to engineered drawings, equipment schedules, and manufacturer specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, piping schematics, control drawings, and installation details.
- Install basic HVAC controls including thermostats, humidistats, CO₂ sensors, relays, and motorized dampers.
- Perform equipment startup and functional testing to verify proper operation.
- Troubleshoot common HVAC equipment and installation-related issues.
- Cookorate work with project managers, foremen, electricians, pipefitters, sheet metal mechanics, and controls technicians.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all OSHA regulations and Comfort Systems USA Mid South safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of commercial HVAC installation experience.
- Ability to install commercial HVAC equipment and refrigerant piping systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, control schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Experience installing basic HVAC controls.
- Working knowledge of commercial HVAC startup procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with overtime as project schedules require.
- Reliable transportation to and from assigned job sites.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and work from ladders, lifts, and rooftops.
