Refrigeration Installation and Service Technician (FT)

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the start-up and commissioning of new refrigeration systems, including parallel racks and single systems, ensuring proper pressure testing and evacuation procedures are followed.
  • Direct and guide refrigeration team members on project tasks, such as line set routing and component installation.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, General Contractors (GCs), and other trades to ensure successful project completion.
  • Interpret and utilize technical documents, including blueprints, floor plans, shop drawings, and wiring schematics.
  • Provide technical support to Operations and Project Managers by assisting with troubleshooting and resolving issues on problematic systems between projects.
  • Inspect and verify the wiring and programming of various manufacturers' Energy Management Systems (EMS) as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • Successful candidates will possess expertise in the installation, wiring, start-up, and construction of commercial refrigeration equipment, including:
  • Walk-in evaporators and condensing units.
  • Ice machines.
  • Parallel rack systems.
  • Walk-in coolers and freezers.
  • Performing system start-up for walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and parallel rack systems.
  • Constructing walk-in coolers, freezers, and ice machines.
  • Diagnosing and resolving performance issues with walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and parallel rack systems.
  • Additional duties involve the installation, diagnosis, and repair of other commercial cooking equipment.

Work Schedule And Travel

  • 90% of our work is outside the Tucson Metro Area, so travel is absolute.
  • The role requires occasional mandatory evening, weekend, and on-call work hours.
  • Travel to job sites is required throughout Arizona and other states.
  • Overtime is available, based on workload.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • EPA Type II or Universal certification.
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License in good standing, eligible for coverage under the Company's insurance carrier.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 100 lbs. and comfort working on ladders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with commercial equipment installation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of construction experience.
  • Experience in both plumbing and electrical work.
  • OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain an Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
