Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and mentor the project crew
- Prioritize and delegate responsibilities
- Communicate with trades people on the job site
- Track project schedule to ensure projects are completed efficiently, accurately, and on-time
- Perform hands-on work with the team, including copper brazing and supermarket refrigeration installs
- Serve as Lead Technical resource on assigned projects
- Lead 5–7 people at one time
- Report on job status and performance
- Control job costs
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with peers, customers, GCs, and subcontractors
- Ensure use of PPE and application of safe behavior, including vehicle safety
- Ensure compliance with Installation policies and procedures, including project tracking, safety, time and attendance
- Oversee 3rd party resources as needed
- Direct and oversee work of other Apprentices and Journeymen assigned to specific projects
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in commercial building construction or other related industry/trade
- Minimum of 5 years of supermarket refrigeration install experience
- Hands-on supermarket refrigeration install experience, copper brazing, and working on underground and above ground wiring
- High school diploma, GED, or completion of trade program or technical school (college degree is a plus)
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Knowledge of construction principles and practices, including efficient use of labor hours
- Ability to organize tasks and use good judgment in making work assignments
- Ability to give clear instructions and guidance
- Ability to maintain project labor hours within acceptable limits and request change orders as needed
- Ability to ensure safe work practices and comply with Safety policies
- Ability to understand and follow all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Track record of punctuality and dependability
- Ability to use typical business tools including email, Word, Excel, Work Order/Dispatch Software, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
- Ability to manage time, delegate assignments, and follow through to ensure good results
