About the role

The Downstream Chemicals Team utilizes technology to deliver value to customers, optimizing process, finished fuels, and water treatment applications within refineries.

Responsibilities

  • Safely manage day-to-day operations of refinery process, finished fuels, and water treatment programs
  • Lead and develop a collaborative team to solve complex and interesting technical problems
  • Implement, monitor, troubleshoot, and evaluate chemical treatment programs
  • Manage a team of Account Representatives and Technicians at a customer's location
  • Develop trusted relationships with customers and cross-functional teams
  • Apply account management fundamentals to understand customer needs, requirements, and potential sales opportunities
  • Coordinate numerous projects of varying complexity to bring value to customers
  • Routine monitoring and reporting of performance of existing treatment programs
  • Drive technical sales and innovative solutions that bring value to customers
  • Provide field support, laboratory analysis, and technical guidance for customers
  • Manage chemical inventories and deliveries at the customer location

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering (preferred) or similar discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in refining, supporting hydrocarbon process and finished fuels additives treatment programs
  • Strong understanding of industrial chemical treatment technology and sales process
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory setting and/or familiarity with analytical methods and interpretation
  • Comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and refinery market conditions
  • Ability to present complex technical content to various levels of internal and external organizations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle as required to perform job duties
  • TWIC Card or ability to obtain a TWIC Card
