Refinery Site Manager (Downstream Chemicals) – Canton, OH

About the role

The Downstream Chemicals Team utilizes technology to deliver value to customers in refineries. The role involves managing processes, providing technical support, and driving sales.

Responsibilities

• Safely manage day-to-day operations of refinery process, finished fuels, and water treatment programs
• Lead and develop a team of Account Representatives and Technicians
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers and cross-functional teams
• Apply account management fundamentals to understand customer needs and requirements
• Coordinate and manage various projects to bring value to customers
• Routine monitoring and reporting of performance of existing treatment programs
• Drive technical sales and innovative solutions that bring value to customers
• Collect and interpret data for troubleshooting, service reports, meetings, reviews, and presentations
• Provide field support, laboratory analysis, and technical guidance for customers
• Manage chemical inventories and deliveries at the customer location

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering (preferred) or similar discipline
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in refining, supporting hydrocarbon process and finished fuels additives treatment programs
• Strong understanding of industrial chemical treatment technology and sales process
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Previous experience working in a laboratory setting and/or familiarity with analytical methods and interpretation
• A comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and refinery market conditions
• Ability to present complex technical content to various levels of internal and external organizations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
• Ability to drive a company vehicle as required to perform job duties
• TWIC Card or ability to obtain a TWIC Card
