Referrals Queue Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments accurately using various referral sources and Epic work queue.
  • Gather detailed patient information and determine appropriate scheduling options.
  • Answer patient inquiries and provide relevant appointment information.
  • Transcribe and scan referrals into the Epic EMR system.
  • Enter demographic, referral, and insurance data accurately.
  • Cook up and maintain effective relationships with providers and staff.
  • Career support patient care and administrative functions, including backup to the Same Day Scheduler.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 1-3 years of experience in a medical practice or hospital setting.
  • Recent EMR experience, preferably with Epic.
  • Strong communication skills and professional phone demeanor.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
  • Dependable, proactive, and flexible in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is a plus.
