Referral and Scheduling Coordinator

About the role

The Referral and Scheduling Coordinator 1 plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by scheduling and pre-registering patients for exams and procedures with specialists and providers outside the primary care physician's office. This position involves performing basic administrative, clerical, operational, customer support, and computational tasks.

Job Responsibilities

• Gather and communicate all relative information and preparation instructions to patients and referring providers.
• Ensure all necessary documents and information are accurately communicated to both patients and referring providers.
• Work closely with medical staff to ensure smooth and efficient patient flow.
• Handle administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, patient registration, and insurance verification.
• Communicate with patients and providers regarding test results and follow-up appointments.
• Manage the Tuberculosis (TB) screening program as part of the responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of hands-on healthcare experience in a clinical setting within the Medicare population.
• Proficient in medical terminology.
• Referral experience.
• Insurance portal knowledge.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT coding.

Pay and Benefits

The compensation range for this role is $39,000 - $49,400 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
