About the role

The Referral Specialist at Suvida Healthcare processes all referral requests to outpatient centers, specialist offices, or outside services needed. They serve as a liaison for patient resources and often work closely with insurance companies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the highest level of customer service possible
  • Attends all clinic huddles and clinic monthly meetings
  • Expediting patient referrals to specialty offices
  • Manages patient referrals by processing them and obtaining authorizations in a timely manner per company policy
  • Maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals to promote team awareness and ensure patient safety
  • Assembles information concerning patient’s clinical background and referral needs
  • Provides and fax appropriate clinical information to specialist office
  • Schedule, problem solve, communicate, and coordinate referral appointments with outside specialists
  • Updates patient information and makes changes to EMR platform
  • Reviews details and expectations about the referral with patients
  • Routinely provide patients with other clinic and community-based resource materials as appropriate

Requirements

  • 1+ years progressive work experience in the healthcare industry
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • Experience managing referrals and authorizations
  • Experience documenting in electronic medical records
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Experience in Value-based care operations preferred
  • Fully fluent in Spanish

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • A bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or Hospitality preferred

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records systems
