Referral Navigator

About the role

The Referral Navigator processes referrals from Primary Care Providers (both internal and external/network) for the purposes of obtaining specialist care by our internal / network specialty Providers. This includes confirming all necessary documents and information have been provided, sending back for additional information, cancelling those that do not meet criteria or do not have necessary information required within a specified time frame, forwarding to MD review if questionable, accepting referrals and determining if the referral meets outsource or overflow criteria.

Responsibilities

• Building new referrals from network providers
• Reviewing to ensure all necessary documents and information have been provided
• Sending back documents for additional information
• Cancelling those that do not meet criteria or do not have necessary information required within a specified time frame, forwarding to MD review if questionable
• Accepting referrals and determining if meets outsource or overflow criteria
• Handling paperwork, faxing, scanning, and multiple telephone calls
• Direct face-to-face contact with multiple patients

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2+ years of experience working in a health-related field
• 2+ years of experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and/or Practice Management Software systems

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette

Skills

• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay

The hourly pay for this role will range from $18.00 to $32.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
