About the role
The Referral Navigator is responsible for managing referrals from Primary Care Providers to specialist care providers, both internal and external.
Responsibilities
- Building, reviewing, submitting, and processing referrals
- Ensuring all required documentation is complete
- Handling paperwork such as faxing and scanning
- Determining if referrals meet criteria
- Sending referrals back for additional information when needed
- Canceling non-compliant referrals
- Forwarding questionable cases for medical review
- Performing primarily computer-based work with significant paperwork handling and phone communication
- Engaging in direct patient contact
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 2 years experience in a health-related field
- At least 2 years experience with Electronic Medical Records or Practice Management Software
Preferred skills
- Medical assistant experience
- Bilingual ability in English/Spanish
- Excellent communication and phone etiquette
Pay
$18.00 to $32.00 per hour
