Referral Navigator

About the Role

The Referral Navigator processes referrals from primary care providers to facilitate specialist care, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete, accurate, and meets criteria. This role involves primarily computer-based work with face-to-face patient interactions.

Responsibilities

• Building and reviewing referrals from network providers
• Verifying documentation completeness and accuracy
• Managing referral status, including cancellations and forwarding for review
• Performing paperwork handling, faxing, scanning, and phone communication
• Maintaining compliance with criteria and processing guidelines

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2+ years in a health-related field and with Electronic Medical Records or Practice Management Software

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years as a Medical Assistant
• Bilingual in English/Spanish
• Excellent communication and phone etiquette

Pay

$18–$32 per hour
