Reference Librarian/Adult Services Programmer

Colleton County Government is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Reference Librarian/Adult Services Programmer at Colleton County Memorial Library.

About the role

The successful candidate will plan and conduct reference services throughout the library system under general supervision. This role involves providing professional assistance to patrons with reference needs and performing a variety of related duties.

Responsibilities

• Train staff and patrons in the use of reference and electronic resources.
• Recommend reference materials and maintain the vertical file.
• Handle the Interlibrary Loan function of the library.
• Maintain the Reference and SC Room.
• Plan and coordinate all adult programming for the main library.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in liberal arts and 1–3 years of public library experience (Master’s degree in Librarianship preferred with 1–3 years of public library experience).
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Pre-employment drug screen and satisfactory background check.

Pay

Hourly pay rate: $18.85 (Grade 9).
