About the role
The successful candidate will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence as a Power Broom Operator in Duncan, SC.
Responsibilities
- Basic knowledge of the mechanics and hydraulics of the machine.
- Conduct inspection checklists on equipment such as tracks, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water.
- Keep equipment serviced, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.
- Understand brooming procedures to minimize dust contamination of the air and control damage to vehicles and property in the brooming area.
- Basic knowledge of abilities and limitations in all applications.
- Wear safety glasses and a respirator at all times during brooming operations.
- Operate the vehicle safely in job site situations and follow company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred), but not necessarily required.
- Minimum of 1-3 months of work-related experience and/or training.
- Able to work day or night shifts.
- Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Provide own transportation to and from work.
- Driving License (preferred).
- Legal right to work in the United States with proper documentation.
Physical Demands
- Climb onto and up and down a machine several times a day.
- Sit in a machine and operate it for several hours without stopping.
- Withstand vibration from job site conditions as well as noise from other equipment.
- Use arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions.
- Perform manual duties, such as placing paint drums on the vehicle.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach and signal with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
- Frequently required to stand and walk.
- Occasionally required to sit.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses.
- Excellent hearing or corrected by audio device.
Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration.
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Very loud noise level in the work environment.
