About the role

The successful candidate will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence as a Power Broom Operator in Duncan, SC.

Responsibilities

• Basic knowledge of the mechanics and hydraulics of the machine.
• Conduct inspection checklists on equipment such as tracks, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water.
• Keep equipment serviced, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.
• Understand brooming procedures to minimize dust contamination of the air and control damage to vehicles and property in the brooming area.
• Basic knowledge of abilities and limitations in all applications.
• Wear safety glasses and a respirator at all times during brooming operations.
• Operate the vehicle safely in job site situations and follow company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED (preferred), but not necessarily required.
• Minimum of 1-3 months of work-related experience and/or training.
• Able to work day or night shifts.
• Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Provide own transportation to and from work.
• Driving License (preferred).
• Legal right to work in the United States with proper documentation.

Physical Demands

• Climb onto and up and down a machine several times a day.
• Sit in a machine and operate it for several hours without stopping.
• Withstand vibration from job site conditions as well as noise from other equipment.
• Use arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions.
• Perform manual duties, such as placing paint drums on the vehicle.
• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach and signal with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
• Frequently required to stand and walk.
• Occasionally required to sit.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses.
• Excellent hearing or corrected by audio device.

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration.
• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Very loud noise level in the work environment.
