Responsibilities

  • Supervises all phases of a paving operation, including maintenance of equipment, employees, and distribution of product.
  • Implements environmental, health, and safety regulations and policies (local, state, and government).
  • Maintains and repairs equipment, ensuring it is serviced, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.
  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates daily activities and work assignments for your team.
  • Manages deliveries, production, record keeping, and report creation/submission using email, fax, Word, and Excel.
  • Understands the dangers involved in interstate operations and has a basic knowledge of abilities and limitations in all applications.
  • Recognizes potential problems before breakdowns occur.
  • Works safely and follows company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 5+ years of experience in Asphalt Paving.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ supervisory experience (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow safe workplace practices and company safety guidelines.
  • Proficient working around fast-paced traffic.
  • Valid driving license with a driving record that meets company safety guidelines to operate a company vehicle (required).
  • Must be able to pass a DOT Physical for a DOT Medical card (required).

  • Must be able to climb onto and up and down a machine several times a day.
  • Must be able to sit in a machine and operate it for several hours without stopping.

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach and signal with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses.
  • Hearing should be excellent or corrected by an audio device.
