About the role
The Asphalt Steel Wheel Roller Operator will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively run a roller for the compaction of asphalt and/or dirt and other materials for road and commercial construction. Operators are also expected to assist in the general operation of each job site.
Responsibilities
- Basic knowledge of the mechanics and hydraulics of the machine.
- Conduct inspection checklists on equipment such as tracks, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water.
- Keep equipment clean, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.
- Understand control levers for movement of the machine.
- Prioritize safety and welfare of workers around the machine.
- Operate the vehicle safely in job site situations and follow company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred, but not required).
- Minimum of 1-3 months of work-related experience and/or training.
- Ability to work day or night shifts.
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Provide own transportation to and from work.
- Driving License (preferred).
- Legal right to work in the United States (proper documentation required).
