About the Role
A Peer Recovery Coach / Recovery Support Specialist provides individual and group coaching to individuals with substance use and mental health challenges, especially those reentering the community after incarceration.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate recovery coaching in jail and outpatient settings
- Support clients with co-occurring disorders
- Assist with reentry planning
- Connect clients to ongoing services
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Ensure confidentiality
- Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and external providers
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health, substance use, or peer support
- Active certification (CAPRC-I, CAPRC-II, CPRS, CPRC, or CRS)
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Comfortable working with trauma-affected populations
- Familiarity with criminal justice challenges
