Recycling Sorter (1st and 2nd shift)

About the role

This position is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and sorting various material types under the guidance of line-leads.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment by following the company's safety guidelines.
• Follow Lock Out / Tag Out procedures.
• Sort various material types as directed by line-leads.
• Maintain proper hand speeds for picking and sorting materials.
• Keep workspace clear from trip and fall hazards.
• Absorb and communicate material changes to supervisors and co-workers.
• Perform other duties as required or requested by supervisors or managers.

Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, taste, and smell.
• Visual Requirements: include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally move/lift up to 50 pounds manually.
• Frequently move/lift up to 25 pounds manually.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a similar role preferred.

Skills

• Attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Good communication skills.

Pay

• 1st Shift: $18/hour
• 2nd Shift: $19/hour

Schedule

• 1st Shift: Tuesday - Friday (6am - 4:30pm), Saturday (6am - 2:30pm)
• 2nd Shift: Monday (4pm - 2:30am), Tuesday - Friday (4pm - 12:30am)

Physical/Mental Demands

• Must be able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, taste, and smell.
• Visual Requirements: include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally move/lift up to 50 pounds manually.

Working Conditions

• Work in indoor office environment 50% of the time.
• Noise level is usually moderate.
• Occasionally exposed to loud noise, humidity, hot and cold weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes and airborne particles.
• Occasionally work in high precarious places.
• Work in motor vehicle traffic conditions occasionally.
