Role Summary
The Sorter 1 is responsible for inspecting, sorting, and preparing parts and materials for production. The Sorter 1 will work closely with the Quality and Production teams to ensure that all products meet company standards and customer specifications. Ideal candidates are reliable, efficient, and have a keen eye for detail.Key Responsibilities
- Inspect parts, materials, and products to identify defects, inconsistencies, or damages. Sort according to quality standards and specifications
- Ensure only quality-assured parts move forward in the production process; remove and document defective items
- Record quantities, types of sorted materials, and defects identified. Communicate any discrepancies or issues with the Quality team
- Absorb and assist in inventory organization by labeling, storing, and preparing parts for shipment or further processing as required
- Work with other team members to meet production and quality goals
- Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc)
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, inspection, or sorting experience preferred but not required
- Experience working in a manufacturing or quality-focused environment
- Familiarity with basic measuring and inspection tools
- Experience following work instructions and quality standards

- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on product quality
- Ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, and nonconforming materials
- Basic math skills and ability to accurately count and record information
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, quality standards, and production documentation
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to work independently with routine supervision and collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Dependable attendance and commitment to meeting production and quality expectations
- Ability to maintain focus while performing repetitive inspection and sorting tasks
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently stand and walk throughout the work shift
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, and handling of parts and materials
- Ability to use hands and fingers for repetitive grasping, sorting, and inspection activities
- Visual acuity sufficient to inspect parts for defects, damage, and quality concerns
- Ability to distinguish colors, markings, and other visual indicators as required by inspection standards
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving equipment, noise, varying temperatures, and industrial materials while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
