Recycling Attendant

This is a full-time, seasonal position for the Summer 2026 season (April through the beginning of November). This position is not available for H2B applicants.

About The Role

The Recycling Attendant plays a vital part in resort operations by ensuring all waste, recycling, and compost materials are collected, sorted, and disposed of safely and efficiently. This role is highly physical and requires consistent attention to detail, strong time management, and a proactive approach to keeping resort grounds and facilities clean and guest-ready. You’ll work in a diverse, multicultural environment where dependability, teamwork, and a positive attitude are essential. Success in this role comes from taking pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible resort.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, and dispose of waste, recycling, and compost materials safely and efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of resort grounds and facilities
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs. and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Follow verbal and written instructions clearly
• Uphold safety standards for equipment use and waste handling

Qualifications

• Previous experience in custodial, groundskeeping, facilities, or waste management is helpful but not required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing repetitive physical tasks
• Strong attention to detail, dependability, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to live and work on Mackinac Island during the season
