About the Role
This position is responsible for full-cycle recruitment for all positions within MCTS. The HR Coordinator recruits, screens and facilitates preemployment activities. This position also facilitates internal transfers or promotions for non-represented and represented positions. The HR Coordinator maintains records, documents related to the pre-employment process, tracking tools and provides hiring metrics as appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Utilize HRIS software for recruitment, candidate communication and applicant tracking.
- Utilize HRIS (Ceridian Dayforce) and other platforms to review job applications and resumes to determine employment eligibility.
- Utilize various platforms to proactively recruit candidates based on hiring needs.
- Collaborate and communicate with department managers throughout the selection process to implement recruitment plan.
- Provide HR recommendations based on best practices to hiring managers when necessary.
- Attend and participate in job fairs and other community resource events to attract qualified applicants for open positions.
- Promote organization attractiveness by emphasizing employment opportunities, employee benefits and perks.
- Conducts phone interviews to provide position overview, assess candidate's work history and overall job fit.
- Administer a variety of pre-employment tests.
- Schedule in-person interviews for qualified candidates.
- Coordinate internal position transfers.
- Maintain employee records and recruitment files.
- Schedule and coordinate preemployment physical and drug screens.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field required. Related experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
- Two (2) years of experience in high-volume, full-cycle recruitment; Three (3) years preferred.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems required.
- Experience with collective bargaining agreements preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Knowledge of the principles of recruitment and selection.
- Knowledge of HRIS solutions and applicant tracking systems.
- Knowledge of appropriate documentation.
- Knowledge of MCTS operations and policies.
- Skilled in computer operations and spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, applicant tracking, and related software.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships.
- Ability to work independently.
Pay and Schedule
- Annual Salary Range: $60,400 - $72,500
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Non-Represented
- Work is frequently conducted in an office or similar indoor environment relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards.
- Physical requirements are those described as sedentary work exerting 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently.
