About the role

Elderwood at Lancaster is seeking an experienced Recruitment Coordinator to join our team. This is an onsite role located in Lancaster, NY. The Recruitment Coordinator provides day-to-day recruitment and new employee onboarding support for the facility, supports company compliance for state surveys/audits, and serves as the point of contact for all new employees.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment
    • Responsible for the timely sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding of candidates through the Applicant Tracking System.
    • Open, close, and refresh requisitions in a timely manner in the Applicant Tracking System.
    • Participate in marketing the facility through recruitment events such as open interviews and job fairs.
    • Manage regularly scheduled site-based Recruitment and Retention meetings, including maintenance of an accurate and timely weekly meeting agenda and associated report.
    • Ensure internal posting process is properly managed within the facility, and for employees involved in facility-to-facility transfers.
    • Promote the company Employee Referral Program.
    • Accurately track the employee referral program and ensure timely payout of referral bonuses.
  • Onboarding and Training
    • Orient and complete new hire paperwork for all new staff members, ensuring employment regulatory requirements are met, including reviewing benefit program eligibility, describing benefit plans, and confirming enrollment completion.
    • Schedule new hires for General Orientation and deliver the HR training component.
  • Administrative
    • Obtain all required regulatory documentation for all licensed and certified persons hired at the facility at the time of hire and annually thereafter, including professional licenses and CPR and other Life Safety certifications. Arrange for training if not certified.
    • Obtain medical documentation required for Measles, Rubella, and TST for applicable new hires. Coordinate new hire physicals.
    • Ensure all personnel actions are properly documented (location, address, rate of pay and status change, disciplinary actions, and signature receipts).
    • Maintain staff member personnel records in accordance with regulatory agency requirements and HR Policy & Procedure Manual.
    • Order name badges, business cards, and computer access as needed.
    • Coordinate uniform benefit allowance, fitting, and acquiring of uniforms under the allowance program.
  • General
    • Apply knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures. Act as a resource for staff seeking guidance and explanation of policies and procedures.
    • Exhibit the highest level of customer service towards residents, staff, and visitors.
    • Demonstrate the ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management staff, including covering for the HRM position if vacant.
    • Utilize the electronic timekeeping system as directed.
    • Arrive to work on time, regularly, and work as scheduled.
    • Recognize and follow the facility dress code, including wearing a name tag at all times.
    • Follow policy and procedure regarding all electronic devices, computers, tablets, etc.
    • Support and abide by Elderwood’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
    • Abide by Elderwood’s business code of conduct, compliance, and HIPAA policies.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, management staff, or Administrator.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Psychology, or related field OR equivalent experience in an HR role.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment and employee onboarding.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and systems.
  • This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. The employee must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
