About the Role

Build the recruiting engine for a growing home services company. As the Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will own the hiring process from beginning to end, supporting positions ranging from skilled field technicians and apprentices to office professionals and department leaders. This role involves creating the recruiting function from the ground up, not inheriting an existing system.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a consistent hiring pipeline for:
    • Plumbing and HVAC technicians
    • Installers and apprentices
    • Customer service and office professionals
    • Accountants, marketing professionals, and other specialized roles
    • Department managers and leadership-level positions
    Prioritize roles that directly impact revenue, capacity, and operational performance.
  • Create a practical, repeatable recruiting system, including:
    • Job posting and outreach templates
    • Candidate screening and interview processes
    • Recruiting timelines and hiring workflows
    • A sourcing strategy tailored to skilled trades, office positions, and leadership searches
    • A simple applicant tracking and reporting system for clear visibility into hiring activity
  • Proactively source candidates through:
    • Direct outreach
    • Employee referrals
    • Trade schools and technical programs
    • Industry relationships
    • Online recruiting platforms
    • Community partnerships
    • Professional networking
  • Advise the General Manager on recruiting activity, candidate quality, and hiring risks. Translate the company’s growth budget into an actionable hiring plan, provide pipeline updates, and identify potential delays.

Requirements

  • Experience building or significantly improving a recruiting process
  • Comfort working independently and taking ownership of results
  • Experience managing multiple types of openings simultaneously
  • Understanding that recruiting skilled trades requires proactive sourcing and relationship-building
  • Ability to adjust recruiting approaches for technicians, office professionals, and leadership candidates
  • Clear communication with hiring managers and company leadership
  • Strong organizational skills, responsiveness, and ability to track recruiting activity and results
  • Ability to identify hiring risks and recommend solutions proactively
  • Comfort working with minimal supervision in a fast-moving environment
